City of Manitowoc Bond Referendum (2008)
There was a Municipal Bond Referendum measure on the June 3 ballot in Manitowoc County.
The voters approved a $7 million measure that would allow the city to bond for improvements of city sidewalks, streets, and storm sewer and water.[1]
The measure was passed with a voter turn out of nearly 19 percent of the 20,238 registered voters.
Aquatic Center Referendum Fails
The non-binding aquatic center question on the June 3rd ballot failed by 87 votes. The question called voters to decide if the city should spend $2 million dollars in order to receive $1.7 million in donations. The final count was 1,862 "Yes" to 1,949 "No" votes.
