Daniel J. Ackerman

Daniel J. Ackerman is a senior judge on the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.[1] Ackerman was first appointed to the court in 1980 by then Governor Dick Thornburgh. He was then elected to his first 10 year term in 1981. He was retained in both 1991 and 2001. Ackerman retired in December of 2009 and took the title of Senior Judge. He will reach the mandatory retirement age, 78, for a senior judge in 2017.[2]
Education
Ackerman earned his undergraduate degree from Thiel College and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.[3]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Ackerman started as an Assistant Public Defender and later went in to private practice.[2]
Salary
As a senior judge for the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Ackerman earns $534 for each day served.[4]
