Darryl Stanton was the 2002 Democratic Endorsed candidate for The United States Congress in Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District.

Stanton ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Minnesota. He was defeated by incumbent Amy Klobuchar in the Democratic primary.

His first act as a candidate was to ask people to donate food to their local food shelves to help the 200,000 Minnesota children in danger of starvation because they do not have access to their schools reduced or free lunch programs during the 3 months schools are closed in the summer.[1]
