David A. Lester

David A. Lester was a judge of District 3A of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in September of 1998.[1] He retired from the court in 2021.[2]
Education
Lester received his bachelor's degree from Augustana College in 1978. He then earned a doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1982. After working as a dentist until 1988, Lester returned to the University of Iowa, where he received his law degree in 1990.[1]
Career
Lester began his legal career as an attorney in Estherville, IA. He worked in this capacity and as an Assistant Armstrong City Attorney from 1991 until his judicial appointment in 1998. He also served briefly in February of 1991 as an Emmet County Judicial Hospitalization Referee.[1]
2012 election
Lester was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 78.47 percent of the vote.[3][4]
