David J. Bedells
David J. Bedells ran for judge on the Benzie County Probate Court in 2012. He suspended his campaign before the election after receiving full-time military orders.
2012 election
Bedells was defeated in the primary election, receiving 10.33 percent of the vote.[1][2]
July 11th forum
The League of Women Voters held a candidate forum to field questions to the Benzie County probate court candidates. During the forum Bedells said that staffing budget constants were a concern and the drug recovery court needed more resources to be efficient.[3]

Education
Bedells earned his B.A. in humanities from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Detroit.[3]
Career
Bedells worked as Benzie County assistant prosecuting attorney for over 7 years.[3]
Military service
He served as a Judge Advocacy General for the Army National Guard in Michigan. He was also deployed overseas in 2010 and served as business law attorney-advisory for the Department of Defense.[3]
