David Nichols, II was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 39 of the Mississippi State Senate. He finished third in the primary election behind Bill Boerner and Sally Doty.

Nichols is the Mayor of Monticello, MS. He graduated from Columbia High School in Columbia, MS and attended Millsaps College and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Nichols ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 39. He lost to both Bill Boerner and Sally Doty in the primary on August 2, 2011. The two will face each other in a primary runoff election on August 23, 2011. W.L. Rayburn defeated Michael Smith in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[1]
