David R. Cherry is a judge of the Seventh Circuit Court in Illinois. He serves as the Scott County resident judge. He was elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to fill the seat vacated by the passing of Lois A. Bell. His current term expires in December of 2018.[1][2]

Education

Cherry received his undergraduate degree (Banking, Finance and Investment) from the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi.[3]

Career

2012 election

Cherry was elected to the Seventh Circuit Court on Nov. 6, 2012, defeating John D. Conrood with 58.4 percent of the vote. He won the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 51.15 percent of the vote over Richard K. Crews.[4][1][2][5]
