Dickey ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee State Senate District 28. Dickey was defeated by incumbent Republican House member Joey Hensley in the August 2, 2012, Republican primary. Tyler Cobb is ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Democrat Jim Kyle ran for re-election in State Senate District 30.[1]
