Dean Sweet
Dean Sweet is a former associate judge for the Illinois Third Judicial Circuit Court.[1] He was voted into the court by the judges of the Illinois Third Judicial Circuit Court and served on the bench from January 2010 until his retirement on May 31, 2014.[2] Sweet had been reappointed for a four-year term that began on July 1, 2011 and was to have expired on June 30, 2015.[3]
Education
Sweet received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law.[4]
Career
Before he became a judge, Sweet had his own law practice in Wood River, Illinois. He was also previously a partner at the law firm of Holland & Holland, served as a city attorney for East Alton, Roxana, and the St. Louis Regional Airport, and was an assistant state’s attorney for fifteen years.[2]
