Louisiana

In Louisiana's general election on November 19, 2011, none of the state executive offices will be on the ballot. That's because in yesterday's primary election, all seven of the state executive races were decided according to the unofficial election results.

Republicans currently occupy all of the seats, and the incumbents all appear (as of 12:02 am Eastern time) to have won re-election. The race for secretary of state is the closest; the unofficial results show incumbent Tom Schedler defeating Republican challenger Jim Tucker by 1.04%. Gov. Bobby Jindal received 65.82% of the vote, while his closest challenger, Democrat Tara Hollis, received 17.87%.

The races for attorney general and treasurer did not appear on the ballot, as only one candidate qualified to run in each of the contests.
