|A native of Baton Rouge, Eric has spent the last 18 years working in various capacities to make East Baton Rouge parish the type of community that will serve as an economic hub for the south.
Born and raised in north Baton Rouge, Eric attended public schools during the peak of public school busing and desegregation in East Baton Rouge parish. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University, Eric - like many of his peers, left Baton Rouge to start his career and family in Dallas, TX as a product engineer for Texas Instruments and the Raytheon Company. Professional opportunities brought him back to Louisiana, in the city of Alexandria.
Since his return to Baton Rouge in 2002, in addition to starting his own consulting firm, Eric has been actively involved in numerous organizations such as: Forum 35, NAACP, 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce, LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business Advisory Board, and the Louisiana Technology Park Board of Directors. He has also been an active member of his church, The Way of Holiness Ministries, Inc. Eric believes these type of organizations are key to building a better and more viable Baton Rouge.- Collaboration between the members of the Metro Council and the office of the Mayor-President are key to moving our parish forward.
- Youth Development, Economic Development, Public Safety, Educational attainment, and Infrastructure are issues that impact every corner of our parish.
- Baton Rouge is ripe with potential and opportunity, we must now ensure that every citizen can access these opportunities.
These are lofty but achievable goals. The reality is I can not with a clear conscience say that I have done everything in my power to make this a reality by not stepping up to lead. I am compelled to offer my service and leadership skills to my fellow community members.
