Eric B. Lewis is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Ephod Company, a business management consulting firm providing services in the areas of business development, project management, and technology consulting.

A native of Baton Rouge, Eric has spent the last 18 years working in various capacities to make East Baton Rouge parish the type of community that will serve as an economic hub for the south.

Born and raised in north Baton Rouge, Eric attended public schools during the peak of public school busing and desegregation in East Baton Rouge parish. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University, Eric - like many of his peers, left Baton Rouge to start his career and family in Dallas, TX as a product engineer for Texas Instruments and the Raytheon Company. Professional opportunities brought him back to Louisiana, in the city of Alexandria.

Since his return to Baton Rouge in 2002, in addition to starting his own consulting firm, Eric has been actively involved in numerous organizations such as: Forum 35, NAACP, 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce, LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business Advisory Board, and the Louisiana Technology Park Board of Directors. He has also been an active member of his church, The Way of Holiness Ministries, Inc. Eric believes these type of organizations are key to building a better and more viable Baton Rouge.
  • Collaboration between the members of the Metro Council and the office of the Mayor-President are key to moving our parish forward.
  • Youth Development, Economic Development, Public Safety, Educational attainment, and Infrastructure are issues that impact every corner of our parish.
  • Baton Rouge is ripe with potential and opportunity, we must now ensure that every citizen can access these opportunities.
Someone very close to me recently asked why I was running. After much careful consideration, it became clear to me that my reason for finally deciding to run for political office is very simple. I must. I love this city and it's people. I want Baton Rouge to be a community that others aspire to. I want Baton Rouge to be a community where our children know they can grow and thrive. I want Baton Rouge to be a community where our seniors feel safe walking in their neighborhoods, driving around town, and living out their lives in peace. I want Baton Rouge to be a community where everyone is welcomed, respected, and appreciated as citizens regardless of their position or status. I want Baton Rouge to be a community where entrepreneurs and small businesses have the space and support to innovate and create new opportunities. I want Baton Rouge to be a place were mothers and fathers are able to earn a comfortable wage so that they may provide for their families and support them holistically. I want Baton Rouge to grow and evolve so that my children are not repeating the same stories of the cycles of fighting for change and equality with their children as me and my siblings have had to share with our children.

These are lofty but achievable goals. The reality is I can not with a clear conscience say that I have done everything in my power to make this a reality by not stepping up to lead. I am compelled to offer my service and leadership skills to my fellow community members.
This office is the parish/county legislative branch of governmental for the capitol city in our state.
I think accountable to self and a commitment to hold the government accountable is the most important characteristic of an elected official.
The legacy I would like to leave is that we have brought an end to many of the historical fights in our community.
My very first job was as a bagger at Winn Dixie my senior year in high school. I had the job for 3 months.
