Eric Thome is a small business and start-up advisor that connects companies with resources needed to grow. As a small business owner with a background in consulting, sales and engineering, he appreciates the challenges of executing on ideas. He is also active in a handful of non profit organizations across the lowcountry and state that focus on education, innovation and empowering others on their worst days. However, his most important role is as a husband and a father to three amazing girls in a blended family that works together to ensure the brightest future for their children.

Eric believes the future of the lowcountry is dependent on a quality, equitable education for all children and understands the pressures on local companies to hire and attract the best employees. Knowing the disparities in the current school system and hungry for change, he feels the highest impact for him at this moment is to serve on the school board.

With the selection of the next superintendent, this school board has the opportunity to set a new course with a visionary leader that has the energy to help transform the school system.

  • Eric Thome is running to select a visionary Superintendent to lead positive changes within the school district.
  • Eric wants to develop a collaborative school board to set a vision for the District, then empower administrators and hold them accountable for results.
  • Eric believes the school board's focus should be on the primary mission to improve educational outcomes for all children and to engage community stakeholders in that mission.
