Kirkham died on January 1, 2017. Her seat remained vacant until the election to fill her unexpired term on May 16, 2017.[4]
Elections
2015
Three of the seven seats on the Brentwood Union Free School District Board of Education were up for general election on May 19, 2015. The elections were separated by specific geographic seats aligned with the district's elementary school attendance areas. These seats did not have titles, but they were considered distinct from one another. Ballotpedia assigned generic titles to the seats up for election to prevent confusion. These seat titles were arbitrary and did not reflect the status or seniority of the board members holding them. Allison ran against just one challenger, Daniel Calderon. Calderon was elected to the board.
Martinez did not file to run for re-election, leaving her seat open to a newcomer. Eileen Felix ran unopposed and won that seat.
