Two of seven seats on the Klein Independent School District school board in Texas were up for by-district general election on November 7, 2017. One incumbent filed for re-election. Position 1 incumbent Georgan Reitmeier was the only one to file for the seat and ran unopposed. The Position 2 incumbent did not file for re-election, leaving the seat open. Former candidate Doug James defeated former candidate Vijay Patel and newcomers Seth Batiste, Dilan Dimas, Wade Fennel, and Sangita Mallik.[1]

Funding
