George J. Silver was a justice for the New York County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 1st Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the court in 2012, after serving as an acting justice.[1][2][3] Silver retired from the court on September 30, 2021, to pursue career opportunities in the private sector.[4]

Silver was elected to the court after running unopposed in the general election on November 6, 2012.[5][6]

Silver received his J.D. from the Hofstra School of Law.[1]

Career

Silver was elected to the civil court bench in November 2004. He was re-assigned to the Bronx County Family Court in April 2009. In 2010, he was appointed a New York County Supreme Court judge by designation. He was elected to the New York County Supreme Court in 2012.[7]
