Three of the seven seats on the Pajaro Valley Unified School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In his bid for re-election, incumbent Lupe Rivas was defeated by challenger Georgia Acosta for the Trustee Area 2 seat.[1][2] Trustee Area 3 incumbent Karen Osmundson and Trustee Area 6 incumbent Maria Orozco ran unopposed. Because of this, they were re-elected by default without appearing on the ballot.[3]
