I am a mother and wife, 20-year financial professional, and engaged community volunteer. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Investigations and hold professional designations with the Assocation of Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists. I am running for the Omaha Public Schools Board of Education to improve and protect this system on which so many of us rely.
  • Addressing and remediating the underlying reasons for our critical staffing shortage, including retaining and attracting our educational professionals.
  • Ensuring educational material is updated, robust, and meaningful.
  • Maintaining our fiscal soundness responsibly while also investing in ways to increase our value to the public.
I believe engaging in early learning at the preschool and pre-K level is key to helping close achievement gaps. I also want to ensure that our educational resources currently in schools remain up-to-date, comprehensive, and relevant-- so students can leave school as academically prepared critical thinkers, ready for their next challenge.
Strong personal and professional ethics

Proven leadership
Commitment to accountability
Willingness to collaborate

Real empathy
The role of a board member is to represent our community in establishing vision and goals for the school district. Some of the attendant responsibilities would be determining appropriate policies; managing the district's budget and expenditures; engaging in good-faith collective bargaining; and remaining accessible and accountable to their electing public.
I worked in a church rectory from age 15 to 16. I folded the service programs, checked out keys, recorded donations, took messages, and did my homework between duties.
The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett. I love a dense, multi-generational, historical novel, and he writes the best ones.
Nebraskans for Educational Excellence
Women Who Run
As a financial professional for the past 20 years, governed by rigorous banking and federal regulations, transparency and accountability have become second nature to me. I believe the public wants and deserves to understand how tax dollars are used, and their usage in public education is no different.
