Helen Brown Bryant is an associate justice for the Suffolk Juvenile Court in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.[1] She was appointed to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick on May 22, 2014, and her nomination was confirmed by the Governor's Council in June 2014.[2][3] Bryant may serve on the court until she turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[4]

Education

Bryant received her undergraduate degree from MacMurray College in 1978 and her J.D. from the Howard University School of Law in 1984.[5]

Career

Before she joined the court, Bryant worked as an attorney in private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts, specializing in juvenile and probate law. She also previously served as a staff attorney for the Office of Bar Counsel and was a supervising attorney for the Massachusetts Advocacy Center (now the Massachusetts Advocates for Children). From 2007 to 2009, Bryant served as an attorney for the Disability Law Center in Boston, Massachusetts.[2][5]
