J. Foster Cotthoff is a judge of the 3rd District Court, which serves Christian County in Kentucky. He was elected in 2014 for a four-year term commencing on January 5, 2015, and that expired on January 6, 2019. [1]

General: He defeated Richard Boling in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 62.7 percent of the vote. [2] 

Education

Cotthoff received his undergraduate degree from Centre College in 1996 and his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky in 1999.[3]

Career

Prior to his judicial election in 2014, Cotthoff practiced law with the firm of Cotthoff & Willen in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He previously served as an assistant attorney general in the criminal appellate division.[3]
