J. Munford Scott

J. Munford Scott is a probate judge for the Florence County Probate Court in Florence County, South Carolina.[1] He was appointed to the court by Governor Nikki Haley to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William Kenneth Eaton.[2] He was sworn into office on December 31, 2013.[3][4] Scott was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a term that expires in 2018.[5]

Education
Scott received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in 1967, his J.D. from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1970, and his master's in tax law from the George Washington National Law Center in 1972.[4]
Career
Before his appointment to the court, Scott practiced law with the firm of Turner, Padget, Graham & Laney, P.A. He brings to the court forty years of experience in tax and estate law. He also previously served on the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1978 to 1979.[3][6]
