Raised in the Central Valley of California, Jacob Trumble attended Clovis Unified Schools his entire educational career. Graduating from Clovis West High School in 2019, he went on to attend Clovis Community, Fresno City, and Fresno State where he is currently enrolled pursing a degree in Business Administration. Jacob's professional experience includes working with the NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center placing CA Community College students with local startups right here in the Central Valley and across the state.
  • Lowering the 'Digital Divide" present in our community - ensuring all students have equal access and training to technology.
  • Fostering and growing our relationship with our Faculty and Staff - making sure their needs are met, and concerns addressed.
  • Expanding our relationship with CART, providing more opportunities for students to gain trade/tech skills, and educating students on all options available post high school.
Having been interested in public education since his youth, Jacob Trumble is highly passionate about education policy and equipping our students with the tools they need to succeed in a 21st century digital economy.
While elected by the residents of Fresno and Clovis respectively, my constituents are our students. Many of who can not vote - but they are who, not only I, but the School Board serves. For it is their future and education that we play a crucial role in. And it is our responsibility to ensure they have the most supportive, well equipped learning environments we can provide to ensure they have the ability to pursue whatever they desire after graduation.
The obvious answer in the age of lockdowns and the pandemic is distance learning - but this is far from the biggest issue that our students face in their pursuit of an education in today's society. While it is a considerable issue challenge our students must over come and it is disproportionately challenging our students without reliable access to a capable computer or internet connect. A students own mental health is their biggest issue in their pursuit. We ask so much of our children - sports, honor/AP classes, volunteer work, part time jobs, taking care of younger siblings, seldom do we stop and ask how are they. If elected I would focus on expanding emotional and mental wellness resources for our students on and off campus in addition to working with our school administrators to help tailor solutions to their students needs.
The mental health of our Students, Faculty and Staff is one of the most important things to me. It would be irresponsible of me to ask our community of Educators and Students to continue upholding a tradition of excellence without ensuring they're staying mentally healthy. I would expand on-campus psychological services to allow students a greater degree of flexibility for seeking help and implement a policy of de-stigmatizing seeing psychological support. While for our Faculty and Staff I would like to meet with them and learn more about what stressors do you have in your day to day job, and then look at how we as a School Board can help either reduce or elimination those stressors for our team.
