Campaign themes
2014
Rodriguez explained his campaign themes for 2014 on his campaign website:
“ |
I’ve spent the past 12 years serving our community by listening to parents, supporting our teachers, and empowering our students. My entire career has revolved around education and children. I am committed to providing our children the very best education that our school district can offer. My background and educational and business experiences are assets to this Board. I am the only candidate who brings to our board experience in education—both in the classroom and administration—coupled with over thirty years of working with schools and school districts throughout the state. I was elected to Place 5 on the GCISD Board of Trustees in May 2002 and have been re-elected three times: in May 2005, May 2008, and May 2011. I am a graduate of Leadership TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) Class of 2004 and earned the designation of Master Trustee. I am currently serving as Vice President for the North Texas Area Association of School Boards (NTAASB). I have served previously as president of the GCISD Board for 2008-2009, vice president for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, and secretary for 2011-2012. I understand what it means to be a part of a decision-making body that impacts the daily lives and future of our school district, teachers, and students. I also take seriously the role and responsibilities of an effective board member. I want to continue to contribute my talents, time, and experience in education and business to ensure that we continue to pursue the goal of becoming a showcase of academic excellence. I am seeking re-election to the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees, Place 5. I would be honored to have your vote. |
