Jill Landes is a district court judge for the Jefferson County District Court in Jefferson County, Washington.[1] She was first elected in 2006 and was re-elected by voters in 2010 and 2014.[2][3]  Her four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[4]

General: She defeated Cheryl Potebnya in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 54.7 percent of the vote. [3] 

2010

Landes ran for a second term on the court in the 2010 election and won. She was challenged by John Augustus Wood.[5]

Education

Landes received a bachelor's degree in American studies from California State University - Fullerton and earned a teaching certification at California Polytechnic State University. She received her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.[2]

Career

Prior to earning her law degree, Landes worked as a social worker, a sex offender treatment specialist at Hiland Mountain Correctional Facility in Alaska, and a counselor and coordinator at a rape crisis center. She also served in the Peace Corp in Botswana.[2]
