Joan Margolis
Joan G. Margolis was a federal magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She was appointed to the court in 1985, becoming the first female appointed as a magistrate judge for the district.[1] She retired from the court on April 30, 2018.[2]
Education
Margolis received an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut.[3]

Margolis was appointed as a federal magistrate judge to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut in 1985. She was re-appointed in 1993, 2001 and 2009.[1]
