Lindholm ran in the 2012 election for Rhode Island State Senate District 37. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on September 11. Incumbent V. Susan Sosnowski was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Lindholm was defeated by Sosnowski in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
