Judge Knight announces retirement from North Carolina District Court
July 8, 2012
Asheville, North Carolina: Judge Rebecca B. Knight has announced her plan to retire from North Carolina's 28th Judicial District Court on Aug. 1, 2012. She has served on this court for the past 30 years. She was re-elected to another four-year term back in 2010, but has chosen to cut it short. "It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Buncombe County and the state of North Carolina," Knight stated.[1]
To replace Judge Knight, the 28th Judicial District Bar will choose three nominees and send their names to the Governor for the final selection and appointment.[1]
