Karen Smith (South Carolina)
Karen Smith was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of South Carolina.[1] Incumbent James Clyburn, dean of South Carolina's congressional delegation and the first black elected to Congress from South Carolina since Reconstruction, defeated Smith in the Democratic primary on June 10, 2014.[2]
