As of 2015, Lapeze was a partner at the law firm Lapeze & Johns, PLLC. He and his wife, Christy, had one son. They attended Kingwood United Methodist Church.[1]

In the Position 6 race, incumbent Heath Rushing defeated challenger Johnny O'Connor Jr. Position 7 incumbent Robert Scarfo lost to challenger Nancy Morrison. Position 2 incumbent Keith Lapeze won re-election unopposed.
