Kevin Artl is the campaign manager for U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk's (R) 2016 campaign for the United States Senate. Since 2003, Artl has been the Illinois House Republican Organization's political director. In this role, Artl coordinated political activity for the House Republican caucus in the Illinois House, including candidate recruitment, voter contact, organizational building, and paid and earned media programs.[1] From 2003 to 2007, Artl was the policy director for the Republican caucus in the Illinois General Assembly. He has managed municipal and U.S. congressional campaigns across Illinois.

Career

Kevin Artl was campaign manager for State Representative Judy Biggers in 1998, and served as a campaign strategist working in the office of Illinois Republican Leader Lee Daniels in 1999.[2][3] In 2002, Artl served as a campaign spokesman for Vernon Hills, Ill. Mayor Roger Byrne.[4] In 2003, Artl began his tenure as political director of the Illinois House Republican Organization, which Rockford Register Star political reporter Kevin Haas calls "...the main committee responsible for supporting Republican candidates for state House."[5] From 2003 to 2007, Artl was policy director for the Republican caucus in the Illinois General Assembly. In July 2007, Artl was named executive director of Rudy Giuliani's Illinois campaign staff for the 2008 presidential election.[6] Artl served as Illinois House Republican Leader Tom Cross' political director prior to Cross' 2014 campaign for Illinois Treasurer.[7] In January 2015, Republican U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk's brought Artl to his 2016 campaign for the United States Senate as campaign manager.[8]
