I earned a BBA in Economics, with honors and Juris Doctorate. I have managed highly complex litigation in involving investment/securities fraud and other forms of fraud, serious injuries to children victimized by crime,high-conflict family and estate matters, and business litigation. I particularly enjoyed representing families and the elderly in an ad litem appointed position which I completed pro bono. After I obtained an $8.9MM verdict on behalf of a child molested by an attorney I became the target of law fare and theft of my services aided by colleagues as a way of reducing their own competition. I have seen conduct by lawyers that I never would have imagined before attending law school. I am happily married and my husband and I are retired and own a small business where we write children’s books, music, and lyrics and manufacture goods for children focused on good manners and inner strength. I care deeply about the wellbeing of all children and I have an experienced, calm, thoughtful demeanor daily and in crisis. My years of experience enable me to tackle difficult, pressing issues confronting CISD. If I am elected my approach will be one that strengthens foundational and traditional ethics and pedagogy that works for CISD, for teachers, school administrators, and children. - I am devoted to helping your children become successful, strong members of our society who are grateful for their public school education and for their parents and school administration because all of these things will have supported them, their growth intellectually and socially, and provide memories that strengthen them as they move forward in life.
- I will protect your children to the best of my ability and I will involve parents as much as possible every way I can in their education journey so your child is aware of themselves, their relationship to their community of others, and that their future is bright.
- I know how to say "no" and I mean what I say. Financial responsibility is important and sometimes requires very creative thinking. We must think of the whole when spending on the part. A myopic view in financial planning, and everything really, leads to bad decisions and sometimes the best answer is "yes, but not right now."
I am passionate about protecting girls rights to the benefits of their hard work and this includes academics and sports as well as other areas. I am also passionate about protecting the integrity of boys similar rights. The Board, administration and teachers must lead as adult professionals, focus on academics w/firm, clear expectations, create an environment of safety and well-being / good, without social experimentation on children. One's time cannot be replaced and the educational experience is vital in terms of each child growing in understanding of their unique final end to which their every pursuit brings closer throughout life. Interrupting or injuring this time has vast consequences and deserves protection.
I love my husband and his kindness and wisdom.
I have quite a personal library. Obviously the Bible impacts my philosophy entirely and through that my political philosophy. I have been influenced by the writings of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Pope John Paul, II, Wole Soyinka, and so many others. There is no one book or such that will help someone understand my political philosophy; I am not a socialist by any means but I do not believe any person should be without help when in need. My father was a Marine and he and my Mother influenced me in terms of remaining strong and never giving up and God's Word and the words of Pope John Paul, II teach me to pursue life in faith without fear.
Characteristics or principles most important for an elected official are genuineness; integrity; self respect and respect of others; ethical and responsible handling of work entrusted to them; proper use of confidential information; the ability to understand and think clearly in relation to ethics that will be challenged every day; lack of self-dealing; thoughtfulness and self-awareness.
Strength, kindness and lack of fear.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office are responsible financial oversight and budgeting of the district; creation and implementation of procedures and programs for the protection and continuity of the school system and its children, teachers, and administration and the development of infrastructure to meet the demands of the population growth and demographics.
A legacy of strength, kindness and lack of fear.
I worked for Steven Hailey answering his office phones on the weekends while in school at Conroe High. This is silly but I cannot remember how long I worked there. I was frequently very tired on Saturday mornings having been in Golden Girls and performing at Friday night games. He was a very kind boss!
"I'm A Man, Yes I Am" by my husband, Len Guardino. Search for him on Youtube! Enjoy!
I have struggled with others' envy and the horrible impact their hatefulness and professionally their theft and the undeserved financial ruin they caused.
The primary job of a school board member is oversight and guidance to school administration and maintenance of financial well-being as well as thoughtful consideration of future needs of the district and implementation of plans to care for those needs.
My constituents are the tax-paying citizens of Montgomery County, the children of Montgomery County, the parents of Montgomery County, the teachers of Montgomery County, the school administrators of Montgomery County, the retired of Montgomery County, the business owners and employers of Montgomery County, the families of Montgomery County, the land owners of Montgomery County, other governmental units of Montgomery County.
I will communicate with groups to find out what their need are and how together we can support those needs.
I want to reach out to business owners and parents as well as nonprofit organizations to increase community involvement in our schools and also nurture relationships with our representatives and political organizations to build a wide array of community to maintain a path for involvement in the school system for everyone of all ages. I would also like to reach out to our retired community because our retired community has so much wisdom and experience to share.
Positive teaching is good teaching. This can be measured through grades, interactions with parents, well-being of children and through review of discipline records, and other empirical evaluations. I will support advanced teaching approaches on the basis of an informed assessment.
I would like to see advanced technical training for students who do not intend to attend college upon graduation. Preparation for paraprofessional degrees, manufacturing, nursing, arts, technical trades, and others. Incorporation of real world examples to interest these students while in core studies would benefit them as well as including interactions with professional tradesmen in the community.
I will advance creative and conservative methods to stretch every dollar in order to save from spending.
When adults act like adults and do not attend children for the purpose of meeting adult needs and instead meet the needs of children, children will be safe. When children are bullied this must be stopped immediately. Bullying is abuse. But safety is up to adults and when adults are acting like adults and trained professionals are acting like trained professionals, schools will be safe.
These persons need reassurance of how important they are and how much their individual contributions to their jobs make a big difference. I would consult with a Ph.D. on how to create a better environment for students, faculty and staff. I would not support methods that weaken them.
Knock knock. Who's there? Where? There? Where? There? I just made that up!
I would like to study this more before answering this question. Academics is high on my list of areas to improve.
My ideal learning environment for students is a classroom where every child is safe and their minds are not committing energy to self protection but to academics because they are at ease with being in class at school. My ideal class is a place where children are nourished in a healthy and positive experience without fear and where they can truly benefit from their education and grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically in their respective subjects.
This was a very difficult experience and I applaud the administration for its efforts in maintaining school through the use of technology and flexibility. I would prefer to study this more before making recommendations.
I will attend meetings important to them and maintain a method of communication with me they can use.
My preferred strategy is to cooperate with existing methods of recruitment and strengthen them where I can.
I believe government functions should be financially transparent and government officials must be accountable. I believe officials need immunity in order to commit to decisions but disagree with some uses of immunity that I have seen over the course of my legal career due to its ease of abuse. Financial transparency should be able to correct many errors as a matter of use.
