Larry R. Blanton
Larry R. Blanton is a former circuit court judge in Orange County, Indiana.[1] He was first appointed to the bench in 1997 to fill a vacancy. Blanton ran for re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016, but was defeated.
Biography
Blanton received an undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University, an M.P.A. from Western Kentucky University, and a J.D. from the University of Louisville.[2][3][4]
Prior to his judicial appointment, Blanton worked from 1969 to 1974 as a teacher and coach at Mitchell Junior High School. He left the school for a management role in the clock division of Cornwell Co., Paoli.[3]

2016
Indiana held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on May 3, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 5, 2016. Steven Owen (R) defeated incumbent Larry R. Blanton (D) in the general election for the Indiana 87th Circuit Court in Madison County.[5]

Blanton was re-elected to the 87th Circuit Court of Orange County of the Indiana Circuit Courts in 2010. He received 100% of the vote.[6]
2004
In 2004, Blanton ran unopposed in both the Democratic primary and the general election. He received 100% of the vote.[7]
