Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Bauer's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Jobs: Lee supports a higher minimum wage, but Lee knows its that the States should make this decision, NOT A CITY, OR TOWN of a STATE! New federal highway projects could create 27,800 jobs for every $1 billion spent, a win, win for our country.
  • Energy: Lee proposes that we expand our natural resources—wind and solar—to further grow our economy and decrease our dependence on the Middle East.Wind power has stood the test of time. It is renewable, cost effective, and environmental. Despite the current system having its limits, we live in a country of innovation and technology. As your congressman, Lee will push for the house to invest in developing new windmills that maximize energy input and protect wildlife.
  • Healthcare: It would be ridiculous to argue that we do not need affordable health care or that someone does not deserve to have health insurance; however, the financial practicality of implementing the current Affordable Health Care (AHC) has proven faulty. The AHC takes up almost 20 percent of the Federal budget. (Insert more on costs) At the end of the day, both Democrats and Republicans agree that we must reduce our national debt, and amending the AHC will help us achieve that.
  • Immigration: Diversity and immigration are two of America’s oldest qualities. This nation needs and embraces immigrants, but the county can handle only a certain influx of human capital at a time, which is why we must make sure that everyone entering the county is legal. Lee does not propose we build a wall, nor does Lee support amnesty. However, Lee does think that we should have a military presence at the border.
  • Education: Smaller school sizes, no segregating of less educated or troubled students from regular class time. No to common core. Pay increases across the board, and pay raises for teachers who are leaders in learning is a must, and not just by how long one serves.
