Linda B. Riegle
Linda B. Riegle was a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of Nevada. She was appointed in January 1988, and reappointed to another 14-year term in January 2002. Riegle was elevated to chief judge and served the court in this role from July 1993 until October 1999. She retired on July 31, 2013, but served on the court on recall status until December 31, 2014.[1][2]
Education
Riegle earned a bachelor's degree from Shepherd College and a J.D. from Albany Law School.[3]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Riegle worked at the law firm of Lionel Sawyer & Collins, where her practice focused on bankruptcy and commercial law. She joined the firm's partnership in 1983, becoming its first woman partner.[1]
