Linda Christopher is a judge for the 2nd Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office in 2017. Her current term ends on December 31, 2025.

Education

Christopher received her B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in 1976 and her J.D. degree from the Antioch School of Law in 1980.[1]

Career

Christopher began her career in 1980 as a law clerk in Denver, Colorado, serving Family Court Judge Orrelle Weeks. From 1981 to 1986, she was an associate of Jerome Trachtenberg. She then served briefly as a hearing examiner for the Rockland County Family Court before starting the Law Offices of Linda Christopher. She practiced at the firm from 1986 to 1992. From 1992 to 1996, she worked as a partner of Christopher and Draine. She then returned to work at her own firm from 1996 to 2004.

Christopher's judicial career began in 2002 when she became a judge of the Grandview Village Justice Court and an acting judge of the Upper Nyack Village Justice Court. She was elected to the Rockland County Family Court, taking office in 2005. From 2011 to 2017, she served the Westchester County Supreme Court.[1] She joined the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, in 2017.[2]

2010 election

In an eight-way race, Christopher was one of the four judges elected.[3]
