Linnea E. Thompson is a resident judge for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. She was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court on May 23, 2013, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Charles H. Stengel.[1] Her term commenced on June 24, 2013.[2] She was elected to a full term on the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court in 2014.[3]

Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 18, 2014.
General: She defeated James B. Eagle in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 53.1 percent of the vote. [3]
