Loomis Term Limits Initiative, Measure A (November 2010)
A Term Limits Initiative, Measure A was on the November 2, 2010 ballot for voters in the City of Loomis in Placer County as an initiated city charter amendment.[1] It was approved.[2]
Measure A limited members of the Loomis City Council to serving two consecutive four-year terms in office.
Measure A was written so that the term limits it imposed were retroactive.
Tom Millward was a leader in the campaign to enact term limits on the Loomis City Council. He said, "When you have people who have been serving forever, they get their own personal agenda and interest groups … and they don't listen to anyone else."
A simple majority vote was required for approval.

The question on the ballot:
| Measure A: Shall the proposed ordinance entitled “An Initiative of the Loomis Town Citizens Enacting Term Limits” which provides:” (1) five council members serve 4-year terms; (2) terms shall be staggered; (3) no member can serve more than two consecutive 4-year terms; (4) a member who has served two terms prior to August 1, 2010 must sit out eight years; and (5) current members can complete their terms, be adopted?[3] |
