This measure sought to add to the current library levy by a rate of $.12 per $100 of assessed property value for a continuing period of time in order to continue to further pay for current expenses in the library district.[2]

The question on the ballot:
An additional of a tax for the benefit of Madison Public Library for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding 1.25 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 12.5 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a continuing period of time, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
