Alvarez ran for election to the Yuma County Justice Courts.
Primary: She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 26, 2014.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 43.0 percent of the vote. She competed against Juan Manuel Guerrero. [1][2] 

Education

Alvarez earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice administration with a minor in psychology from Northern Arizona University.[3]

Career

In a questionnaire with the Yuma Sun, Alvarez states that she has served the South Yuma County community as an educator, a state government employee within the judicial system and as a business owner.[3]
