Alvarez ran for election to the Yuma County Justice Courts.
Primary: She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 26, 2014.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 43.0 percent of the vote. She competed against Juan Manuel Guerrero.

Education
Alvarez earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice administration with a minor in psychology from Northern Arizona University.[3]
Career
In a questionnaire with the Yuma Sun, Alvarez states that she has served the South Yuma County community as an educator, a state government employee within the judicial system and as a business owner.[3]
