Marilyn Benge McGhee
Marilyn Benge McGhee was a 2014 candidate for the Laurel and Knox Counties Family Court of the 27th Judicial Circuit, which presides over Knox and Laurel counties in Kentucky.[1]

McGhee ran for election to the 27th Judicial Circuit.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 37.1 percent of the vote. She competed against incumbent Judge Durenda Lawson and Stephen M. Jones.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 47.2 percent of the vote. She competed against Stephen M. Jones.

Education
McGhee graduated from Laurel County High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Morehead State University. She earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.[3]
Career
McGhee began her legal career in private practice in 1981. In addition to her practice, she served as master commissioner and domestic relations commissioner for the Laurel Circuit Court from 2002 until 2004.[3]
