Gov. Mike Dunleavy (R) appointed Johnston to the Alaska Regulatory Commission on December 3, 2024, to replace Robert Doyle (nonpartisan).[1]

Biography

Prior to his appointment, Johnston had worked with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Alaska Public Utility Commission. Johnston had also worked with Alaska Railroad, the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, and with the University of Alaska Anchorage. Johnston received his B.A. in business administration, with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Nevada in 1990. He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Alaska.[1]
