I am a physician and parent of 3 children to go through the District 12 school system. I believe in the public school system and completed all of my education in public institutions. The Cheyenne Mountain School District is special. The families here are engaged and passionately dedicated to their children and want to provide them the best academic opportunities that a district can offer. The number of candidates for School Board this election cycle is testament to this fact. But we and the surrounding districts have faced unprecedented challenges as of late. Budget constraints, unpredictable weather impacts, teen mental health, and COVID-19 require School Board members to be guided by the knowledge, compassion, and skills necessary to stay on track as one of the best districts in the state. National politics have become a distraction that threatens the safety of our children and teachers and the success of our mission to provide the best public education. Now more than ever it is necessary that a medical professional who steers clear of politics is on the School Board. As a member of the Cheyenne Mountain School District Board of Education, I will dedicate myself to providing the safest and best education our children can have.
  • Children and teachers have the right to expect that the School Board supports them fully with all available tools and efforts to achieve academic and personal success.
  • Children and teachers have the right to expect a safe learning environment with the least possible disruptions.
  • Parents have the right to expect transparency in school governing, health and safety, and measures of academic success.
I am not interested in national or state politics. I care about the health and wellbeing of my family, my local community, and my patients.
The primary job of a school board member is to provide vision and "big picture" thinking about educational philosophy and mission, to set goals, and then to operationalize feasible methods to reach these goals.
