Maureen Boyle (Wisconsin)

Maureen Boyle is a judge for the Barron County Circuit Court in Wisconsin.[1] She was appointed to the position on November 1, 2013 by Gov. Scott Walker to following the retirement of Judge James D. Babbitt.[2] Boyle was elected in the 2014 general election to the Barron County Circuit Court for a term that will expire in 2020.[3][4]

Boyle earned her B.A. in journalism and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.[2]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the Barron County Circuit Court on November 1, 2013, Boyle served as an assistant district attorney for Barron County since 2008. Prior to this, she worked as an assistant district attorney in Walworth County and Rock County. Boyle also worked as assistant director of the Resource Center on Impaired Driving at the University of Wisconsin Law School from 1998-2001.[2]
Boyle has instructed prosecutors and police at the National Advocacy Center, the University of Wisconsin Law School, the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, and the Prosecutor’s Seminar on OWI. Boyle has also opened and operated a used bookstore and coffeehouse[5] Prior to earning her J.D., she was a research assistant for NBC Sports at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, a public relations manager for the U.S. Canoe & Kayak Team, and a reporting intern at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.[2]
