Dahill ran for election in the special election for Massachusetts State Senate First Suffolk District. The seat was vacant following Jack Hart's (D) resignation to take a job at a law firm. Dahill was defeated by Linda Dorcena Forry in the April 30 Democratic primary. The general election took place on May 28, 2013.[2][3][4]
