Maynard Kirpalani is an associate justice for the Massachusetts Superior Courts.[1] He was nominated to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick in October 2010.[2] His nomination was confirmed by the Governor's Council in December 2010, and he assumed office in February 2011.[3][4] Kirpalani may serve on the court until he turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[5]

Education

Kirpalani received his undergraduate degree from Washington College in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1978.[2]

Career

Prior to his judicial career, Kirpalani was a partner at the law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker in Boston, Massachusetts. He also previously served as chair of the Peabody & Arnold’s general liability litigation group from 1995 to 2000.[2][3]
