The city of Cataño, Puerto Rico, held a special election for mayor on December 19, 2021. The filing deadline for this election was December 9, 2021. The election was canceled after interim mayor Gabriel Sicardó Ocasio was disqualified and Julio Alicea Vassallo was declared the winner.

Alicea Vassallo was sworn in on December 18, 2021. Sicardó Ocasio filed an appeal with the courts on December 19 that called for a special election to be held on December 26. On December 20, Judge Rebecca de León Ríos determined that the appeal was outside the court's jurisdiction.
