Melissa A. Morgan

Melissa A. Morgan is a judge of the Second Circuit of Illinois. She was elected on Nov. 7, 2006 and took office the following Dec. 4. She was the first woman to be elected judge of the Second Circuit Court. She replaced retired Judge George Timberlake. She was retained in 2012 for a term that expires in 2018.[1][2]
Education
Morgan received her undergraduate degree from John A. Logan College and her J.D. degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Law.[2]
Career
Morgan (formerly Melissa A. Drew) worked as a partner of Drew & Drew Attorneys and as an attorney with Land of Lincoln Legal Services prior to her judicial election in 2006.[2]
2012 election
Morgan was retained on Nov. 6, 2012 with 74.1% of the vote.[3][4]
