Scott Collins is the superintendent of the Decatur Township Metropolitan School District. Collins was appointed superintendent on July 1, 2024. His previous career experience includes serving as the Superintendent of the Fayette County School Corporation, as a teacher, principal, personnel director, finance director, and assistant superintendent of learning.[1]
Past superintendents
Matthew J. Prusiecki was the superintendent of the Decatur Township Metropolitan School District. Prusiecki was appointed superintendent in 2013 and left the office in 2024. His previous career experience included working as a principal.[2]

The Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township school board consists of five members elected to four-year terms. Board members are elected at large.
Elections
Board members are elected on a staggered basis in November of even-numbered years.
Two seats on the board were up for general election on November 5, 2024.
