Michael Bellamy

Michael Bellamy is a Democratic judge of the 26th Circuit Court in Alabama, serving Russell County. He was appointed by Gov. Robert J. Bentley (R) on December 1, 2013, to replace retiring judge George R. Greene. Bellamy won election to a full six-year term in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
Prior to his elevation to the circuit court, Bellamy was a Russell County District Court judge from 1998 to 2013. He was appointed to that position by Gov. Fob James (R). From 1984 to 1998, he was a municipal court judge.[1]
Biography
Bellamy received his B.S. from Tuskegee University and his J.D. from Southern University. He was admitted to practice law in Alabama in 1979.[2]

2016
Alabama held general elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016, with a primary runoff on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016.
Incumbent Michael Bellamy ran unopposed in the general election for the Alabama 26th Judicial Circuit.[3]

2012
Prior to being appointed to the Circuit Court, Bellamy was a district judge in Russell County. He was re-elected to the district judgeship in 2012 after running unopposed.[4][5]
