Michael D. DeBerry is an Oklahoma district judge in McCurtain County, which is located in District 17. He was appointed to this position by Governor Mary Fallin in October 2012 to replace Judge Willard Driesel, who passed away.[1] Previously, Judge DeBerry was an associate district court judge for McCurtain County.[2] He was elected to a full term in 2014 after running unopposed. His current term expired on January 13, 2019.[3]

As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [3]

Education

Judge DeBerry received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.[1]

Career

Before his appointment to the district court judgeship, Judge DeBerry worked as an assistant district attorney, as a municipal judge for the city of Idabel, Oklahoma, and as an attorney in private practice.[1]
