The Minnesota Legislators Holding State Offices Amendment, also known as Amendment 3, was on the November 4, 1958 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have permitted members of the legislature to hold certain elective and non-elective state offices.[1]

Although the measure gathered more "yes" votes than "no" votes, Minnesota requires that the majority of all voters vote "yes" in order to pass an amendment. In 1958, there were 1,178,731 total voters, requiring a vote of at least 589,366 to pass a measure.
